Any fizz cocktail will have two main elements. That it’s fizzy, and that is has a citrus element. This makes our gin fizz cocktail recipe the perfect way to celebrate the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee 2022! Made with our limited edition Platinum Jubilee gin, our take on a classic gin fizz comes with a grapefruit themed twist! 

The most famous gin fizz cocktail recipe is known as the Ramos Gin Fizz, invented in New Orleans in 1888. But our take on a gin fizz is a more modern version! We wanted to celebrate Queen Elizabeth’s platinum Jubilee right. This historical event marks 70 years of her service, which is the first time a British monarch has hit this milestone. The celebrations will take place during a bank holiday weekend on the 2nd June, with many garden parties and picnics planned across the country.

To commemorate this occasion, we’ve greeted a limited edition gin, with number bottles and a bespoke label that adorns the royal jubilee emblem in silver embossed foil. The gin itself is based on our award-winning London Dry Gin recipe which is crafted using a traditional distillation process, then flavoured with grapefruit and light floral notes. So this recipe is our recommended way to make the most of this special gin on a special day!

Do you need to use London Dry Gin for a gin fizz?

Does a Gin Fizz need egg white?

Traditionally, the original Ramos gin fizz has egg white, so you can add this to your Liz fizz for a thicker, silky/smooth texture. Simply mix egg whites with your Jubilee gin in a cocktail shaker before you add ice, then add ice and shake well for the desired consistency. But please be careful when consuming raw egg products due to health and safety.
