Looking for a festive or Autumnal cocktail to bring out at winter dinner parties or cosy date nights? Wessex Distillery’s spiced apple pie cocktail contains just the right amount of sweetness with a spiced kick from the gin and cinnamon to warm you up, perfect for those candlelit colder evenings or, if you’re an apple pie lover, for enjoying all year round.

This simple recipe contains enough for one drink, however, you can easily double or triple the ingredients if you plan to make drinks for a group. This warming spiced apple pie cocktail is perfect for entertaining as you are likely to already have a few of the ingredients in your cupboards.

Ingredients

  • 50ml of a London dry gin of your choice, we’d recommend our Alfred the Great premium gin
  • 40ml Apple juice
  • 40ml Ginger beer
  • 15ml Lemon juice
  • 1 tsp Cinnamon sugar (and some for garnish)
  • Apple slice

You will also need:

  • Cocktail shaker
  • Strainer
  • Ice
  • Cocktail or gin glass

Method

Step 1

For some extra spice and to impress your guests, put some extra cinnamon sugar into a shallow bowl, run a lemon wedge over the rim of your glass and dip the glass into the mixture for decorated edges. This step isn’t essential but definitely won’t go amiss if you’re trying to impress family and friends.

Step 2

Add all your measured ingredients into a cocktail shaker with ice.

Step 3

Shake the cocktail shaker hard and fine strain the liquid into a chilled cocktail glass once smooth.

Step 4

Garnish your cocktail with an apple slice sprinkled with cinnamon.

Recipe Tips

We recommend our Alfred the Great gin for this cocktail, a well-balanced and smooth craft gin with juniper and coriander botanicals and citrus endnotes to complement the apple and lemon flavours of the cocktail.
